Because different jobs pose different demands, personality plays a critical role in determining the success that one may need for that position. “The dimensions of the MBTI are four in number: The EI (extroversion-introversion), the SN (sensation-intuition), the TF (thinking-feeling), and the JP (judging-perceiving),” (Carlson, 1989, pg. 484). The E refers to preference of obtaining information from others while the introversion (I) is obtaining information through reading and reflection. The SN scale relates to personal preference either for using sense-based data (sensing) or using self-generated information (intuition).
