Girls Should Be On A Sports Team Essay

Decent Essays
Do you think that girls should be on a sports team?

First, I think everyone has equal rights in this world such as a girl has the same rights as a boy. I think that boys don't want to have girls on there sports team because they think there not as good and say it's to risky that they might get hurt. Everyone in this world has equal rights to play on a sports team but when it comes to a girl wanting to play on a boys sports team they don't want them on. Girls have every right as a boy dose, but dose Ii really matter what gender you are to play on a sports team. I think that boys think that girls are not strong enough but girls can be as strong as a boy is. Girls are allowed to try out for a boys team.

Secondly, I think that girls are being judged about how they look so boys think that there not strong enough to play so they automatically say they can't join even without auditioning. I think the whole reason that boys don't want girls on there sports team because of how they look. Thats why I think that some people just judge them first then let them try. A boys sports team is tough so I get why some people don't want girls on the team because they might get hurt but girls can be as strong as boys to. It's not just the boys strong around here girls can be strong to. They should be allowed to play on a boys sports team because it can make girls stronger by playing so rough. Everyone is the same in the world it doesn't really matter if it's a boys sports team.

Like it's dangerous and they won't really pay attention or don't try or won't do anything. I think that when girls would try out for a boys sports team it's because they are willing to take the risk of them being hurt. That's why I think that girls should be allowed to play on a boys sports team I think it's just the reason that a girl can do anything that a boy can

On a playground in grade school every child has been in an argument saying “boys and girls drool” or vice versa. In this day and age those same kids have grown up and women have gain equal rights with men which they deserve. There’s an argument saying that men and women should be playing sports together as well.…

Is it because of views based on physical appearance where women always seem scrawny and feeble? Whatever the reason is, female athletes deserve the respect that male athletes receive. This is because I will break the stereotype that only men can excel in all sports in order for people to believe that women can excel in different categories of sports also. Women, the nurturer that takes care of household jobs and children, can perform well in athletic activities. Men, the strong and mighty head of the house, can be beat by women in sports.…

In sport today I believe women are treated in an unfair way to their male counterparts. Sport is controlled by the media in this century and women are looked at as sexual objects rather than for their talent like men are. The women are also then expected to wear skimpy clothing not because it’s better for the sport but because of marketing. Professional female athletes are seen as inferior to their male counterparts and therefore don’t get as much media coverage. Women athletes play the exact same games, train equally as hard, yet are still getting paid a large amount less than men.…

Society has a lot of control over what sports girls are ‘allowed’ to play, based on how that sport supports the female athlete stereotype. Girls tend to participate less in contact sports such as football or hockey, and more in sports that make the player seem more graceful such as figure skating or gymnastics (Kauer, 2006). These stereotypes restrict girl from testing the waters and playing sports that they may enjoy, and they might never know their true potential in that sport. Furthermore, this stereotype not only applies to contact sports but to extreme sports as well. These sports don’t allow women to show the feminine attributes that society assumes women should have.…
