The voyage I have chosen is The Second American Journey. Verrazano departed France in 1523, and returned in July of 1524. The purpose of this voyage was to find a route through ships to the Pacific Ocean. Verrazano traveled in the ship, La Dauphine. The conditions grew harsher by each moment, but La Dauphine made it out of hazardous seas, stormy seas, and the dangerous ocean— which is controlled by the forces of the Portuguese and Spanish. Verrazano was accompanied by his brother, Girolam, forty-nine crewman, four ships, one named La Dauphine and another La Normande, the other two remain unnamed. Something accomplished by the voyage was valuable information gained to create maps of the American coastline. The highlights of this voyage were that two ship sank by deathly sea storms, the Portuguese and Spanish controlling areas, they traveled through, and La Dauphine and La Normande being forced to repair in Brittany.
