Second important learning of this summer for me was higher-order thinking skills. During my undergraduate study at the Istanbul University, I heard the name of Bloom a lot. However, things were different this time. We mainly focused revised taxonomies. Especially, Anderson and Krathwohl‘s revised taxonomy was just my taste. Using the verbs for each level to reflect the active process of thinking and putting meta-cognition as a part of evaluation section some pluses of this revised taxonomy. It also engages me to think creatively to find best words and sentences for each section. On the one hand teacher who do not like my words, sentences, on the other hand, taxonomy, which gave me choices to use sophisticated words. In short, I can say, that lesson changed my perspective for taxonomy. Paul’s wheel of reasoning template was another interesting tool for organizing higher order thinking skills. All the pieces of this template building like connections, relations between each other. It requires from student to think creatively and critically, and eventually, higher order thinking. This template would be one of my essential tools to develop those skills for students in my future teaching
