While there are positives of helicopter parenting, there are many negatives that in my opinion, outweigh them in the long rung. Such as most children grow up not being independent or able to make their own decision, affects self-confidence in children, to the point where they are scared of having to face situations alone, and the children aren’t given the opportunity to learn from their own mistakes, and worst of all, most children end up living the dreams of their parents instead of their own and don’t get much of a fun childhood. Personally, I agree with Elizabeth Renzetti because it is how my brothers and I were raised as well as my parents. My parents grew up in St. John's and Mount Pearl, Newfoundland which are both equally small towns.There was never really any danger or a lot of people for that matter, so their parents just allowed them to go to the store, park, hang out with friends and more for pretty
