They soon found that the stockade was not where they had thought it had been it was in fact next to the entrance of the camp. There they proceeded to test dirt specimens in which would they would find hints to what the rest of the area had to offer. They then proceeded and found many artifacts including iron spoons, carbine shell casings, and even German made tokens.
Not only does the museum have many artifacts and exhibits relating to the Civil War but also an exhibits relating to fossils of creatures from 78 million years ago. One of the many they have in the exhibit is called the Mosasaur, a water carnivore and the Vogtle Whale, the oldest whale fossil found in North America. These fossils are both interesting and amazing in all aspects of learning. It doesn’t matter if you're a history buff, a science buff, or even just normal person, these fossils will amaze all people of all ages. Kids especially can come to the museum and find it fun while also learning at the same time. The museum features a hands on science exhibit in which kids can actually do what they have read from the exhibits.
