Before that, he had been a soldier in the French-Indian War. When he started to be the Commander in Chief of all of our forces in the Revolution, the first thing he realized was that he had a small untrained army that didn't have very many weapons and didnt know how to be soldiers well up against the most feared army in the world, the British army. George had to figure a way to even things out a little bit. George Washington had many advantages over the British. The first advantage the George has was the fact that he knew the land better than he know the British would. He knew where the rivers were, the mountains were, where the roads were and how to get from one place to the other better than the British. Another advantage that George had over the British was that George had spies overtime. George realized that he had to have a way to learn what was going on with the British, and he knew that the British would be doing the same thing to him. Both side had the advantage.
