George Pelecanos is a native of Washington, D.C. and a best -selling author of eighteen novels. Pelecanos is also known for the HBO series The Wire and received an Emmy nomination as a writer and producer for the series.
The Turnaround takes place in July 1972 in a neighborhood called Heathrow Heights. Heathrow is an all-black community with people who are proud of their history.
