This is where one develops, communicate, and learn lifelong lessons. With the help of an early education program children are able to grow as a person. Social-emotional development: includes a child’s relationship with herself and others, self-concept, self-esteem, and the ability to express feelings (Gordon & Williams-Browne, 2015). This explains that it is crucial for young children to develop Social-emotional where children are able to build friendships and self-esteem for a better environment. Cognitive-language development: includes curiosity, the ability to perceive and think, memory, attention span, general knowledge, problem solving, analytical thinking, (language development—both receptive (Gordon & Williams-Browne, 2015). I think this is an imperative to the development of the child since cognitive-language development is one of the key elements in the growth of the child. Further, to better understand the development of children word pictures can come in handy. Word pictures, aid teachers to recognize and plan ahead of time to the skills of the children. Also, with word pictures comes great responsibility to not use personal bias. In addition, word pictures are a great tool to use when observing children for the reason that they depict as mentioned before to describe characteristic traits of a certain age group. The humanist theory, presented by George Maslow, is the one that most appeals to me because it offers students a safe environment. In addition, the human theorist school offer breakfast and lunch for their students. This gives the chance to feed children who live in poverty to eat balance diet during the day. This way they can have a better environment to learn without letting hunger get in the way of learning. Maslow’s theory present a hierarchy needs such as, hierarchy of needs that includes basic and growth needs, with pinnacle of self-actualization based on what is healthy Teacher: provider of basic and growth needs (Gordon & Williams-Browne, 2015). Moreover, the self-actualization pyramid can serve as a guide to better understand the basic and growth needs of a child. The pyramid divided up into two sections. The bottom section of the pyramid represents the basic needs of children.
