Just south of Europe is Italy, best known as the boot on the map. Italy might also be known as one of the biggest peninsulas.This gives them a nice mixture of mountains and elegant lands. Not only are there famous geographic sights but there are also many cities filled with things for a tourist to see. Saying that is great is understatement because there are also festivals for their culture and religion. The influential part that Italy had gotten from Etruscans and Greeks made their art and architecture even more in depth and magnificent. Work on last sentence.
Geography of Italy Many people know the country Italy by their beautiful land. Italy is known as the peninsula in which three other peninsulas help make its unique shape, Calabria, Salento, Gargano. Italy can't hold all of their appealing land in just a small island. Italy stretches 745 miles long and 87,105 miles wide! In this large amount of land are many mountains such as the Apennines and the Alps. While the other land is known as the lowlands which have many buildings. Italy is known to have many great mountains. The mountains are known as one of the most popular landscape in Italy, and cover one third of Italy. The Alps, Apennines, and Vesuvius are the more popular ranges compared to others such as Etna which is in Sicily. The Alps are divided into three sections because of how big its size is, the Alps are humongous covering a total of 115,108 miles located in the north part of Italy. The three sections are the Western Alps, Central Alps,and Eastern Alps.The Apennines are known as the “backbone” of Italy or the “Apennine peninsula”, running down the center of Italy, having a big prominent on Italy. Not only that but Vesuvius is the most volcanic mountain in Italy making it a superb sight. The mountains of Italy make up of most of Italy, making it a pleasing
