For with great power come great responsibility and being able to modify genetics is a great reposibility and a lot of things can go wrong, such as another Hitler might emerge wanting to use genetic engineering for their own ends by eliminating those who are considered to have inferior genes, which are what designer babies are eliminating from their DNA. By being able to live longer with quality would be another debatable argument into whether or not it is ethical let alone financially able to do so. The majority of us do at times want to live longer. I know I do but to only finish my bucket list of projects and places to see, of which I often say I wish I were a vampire to live long and with quality but then I would be without my loved ones if they choose not to live a long life as well. That would be a fe of the pitfalls those who do not wish to live a long life and if there were a lot of people living longer then there would be more stress on the planet with over population, workforce or job shortages and food supply shortages, not to mention how would they be able to afford to live that long. Some benefits would be to see how the world would be like say 50 years later or how your future grandkids would be like. What new technology and entertainment would pop up.
