The present paper aims to introduce and discuss the current political issue around gender-neutral toilets and its relevance to the Transgender community. Firstly, the current review will present a brief overview of the history of unisex toilets and how this subject has been an important issue for the Transgender community. Secondly, it will take into consideration the Bathroom bill approved in North Carolina in March 2016, and the consequences that arose. Especially, as emphasised by both the CBS News article (28 June 2016) and The Wall Street Journal article (Gay 2016), when analysing this delicate issue, it is fundamental to think about the fears that non-binary people have to face on a daily basis, such as possible verbal and physical harassment. In addition, the analysis of the two chosen articles highlights that although those who are not in favour of the unisex toilets around New York come from a minority of the American population, we need to remind ourselves that there is still a long way to go before reaching both equality and equity between human beings. Particularly, with regards to the Transgender community and the all-gender restroom issue, it is necessary to spread more awareness and knowledge about such issues.
