What are little girls made of? What are little boys made of? Girls are made of sugar and spice and everything nice. Boys are mad of snips and snails and puppy dog tails. The nursery refers to male and females. Men and women behave differently because of there sex. The males are believed to be more naturally aggressive than the females, who are believed to be passive and built for domestic work, while males are believed to be built for providing and protecting. Sex and gender refers to the biological identity of the person which is male and female. Gender refers to the socially learned behaviors and expectations that are associated with the two sexes. Sociologists separate sex and gender to explain that gender is more of a cultural not a biological phenomenon. According to functionalists who argue that any pattern of behavior that does not benefit society will become unimportant, and that the division of responsibilities between males and females are beneficial to human life. Sociologists Richard Zwiegenhaft and William Domhuff have pointed out that women are now part of the power elite. Women are still under represented and most of those women who have joined it come from upper class families. Women have the right to be a part of political debates and elections that not only affects them, but there family, and the society as a whole. When women participate in these events, they can help with ideas and agreements, and better improve peace making and not allowing violence and going to war with other countries.
