For example, in The Silver Sword by Ian Serraillier, which is a fiction novel, the author writes about the Balicki family, where Joseph and his Swiss wife Margret and his daughter Ruth, 13, and Bronia, 3, and son, Edek, 11 live in Warsaw in Poland. She does not give in to weakness in any form of selfishness and mistrust which intrudes with how she observes other people and her position in the world. This is perceived when she befriends Jan. In fact, she portrays strength and braveness and as I have mentioned earlier she is the epitome of strength. If she were on the island, she would have done the same thing she did in The Silver Sword and would have figured out a way to feed the other girls and shelter them from the harshness of the environment. She signifies a cause of physical power in how she is capable in enduring and proceeding on and continuing throughout exhausting and tiring circumstances. For example, Ruth, in The Silver Sword, does not show any sign of weakness while pursuing Edek. When she struggled while finding him, her stubbornness aided her to continue her search for him. If she was weak and she let her emotions take over, she wouldn’t have searched for him and would have just given up on the idea completely. She shows strength in the commitment to finding her brother. She is a great and inspiring character to all girls, she symbolizes feminism in our society and that is what I think the girls in “Lord of the Flies” if it were the case, would have all represented.
