Gattaca Persuasive Speech

When a person is born, that person should be considered as equal to the child next to it, as both children are equal to the other newly born children in the nursery. In this new world of Gattaca, that is no longer the case. The old world was that way, where every man, woman, and child was born with the same human rights no matter their age, gender, race, or sexuality. Our world is no longer like that since the uprising of the “valids” or, designer children as they are called, gaining more rights than the “God Children”, or invalids as we are called. Over the years of being treated unjustly simply because of the status of my birth, I have gathered five basic rights that have been withheld from myself for others to use to build their own thoughts …show more content…
Insurance companies won’t insure an invalid because they say we have pre-existing health issues that they can’t and won’t cover. Even though everyone, designer children included, are given the same type of blood test the designer children are not seen as having any pre-existing issues only because they were designed by their parents. Every one of us should be allowed to have health insurance, no matter if you are an invalid or a valid, because the test given at birth isn’t always 100% accurate. Considering that these test results aren’t always accurate, anyone no matter how they were born could have an accident, or come down with an untested …show more content…
Growing up as an invalid, I was constantly told that it doesn’t matter how good your grades are in school, or how hard I studied, my best option is pretty much a minimalist one. Careers should not be determined at birth by one’s parents. Any person, no matter their birth type should be allowed to have the same career goals and opportunities to pursue their

Good morning/good afternoon ladies and gentlemen of the jury. Aldous Huxley, the author of the futuristic dystopian novel “Brave New World” is innocent in rightfully challenging the idea of a modern utopia. He invites the reader to challenge the ideal society as his writing is a cautionary tale and a warning to people that humanity may transform from being free independent people to slaves to our own greediness and society. “Brave New World” is a disturbing, loveless world and Huxley shows this through his writing, tapping into themes such as eugenics, behavioral conditioning, the use of advanced technology to control an entire society and showing an extreme but honest version of today’s economic standards. Huxley doesn’t mean to say that people would be happier if they were all genetically modified, nor…

More Canadians than ever seem to prefer flying out of U. S. airports to reach their destinations. This is largely due to the cost efficiency of catching a flight from a facility such as SeaTac Airport instead of a Canadian airport. If you are driving to SeaTac to catch a flight, you probably wish to find a parking facility with affordable rates, and you’ll certainly want to be sure that your car is left in a safe place. Like countless fellow Canadians, you may well appreciate the low prices, convenience, and other benefits of leaving your vehicle at an off-site SeaTac Airport parking lot, such as Aeroparking’s Park & Fly lot. Quick Access to SeaTac Airport One of the top benefits of long-term parking with Aeroparking is the quick trip…

This perspective certainly sheds light on the problem of blame associated with the disabled individual’s on the physician or parents, which tends to infer the burden of the disabled child/infant. Arndt v. Smith (1997) provides an important case in which the mother was not properly informed of a physician’s lack of genetic testing to identify birth defects. In this case, Rinaldi (2009) effectively defines the lack of focus on the infant/child rights, which devalue the disabled individual as a…

We are nearing the day of the "coming of our Lord and Savior," which signifies the need to pick-up our pace so that we will finish our earthly race and hear our Lord proclaim, "Well done thou good and faithful servant..."…
