Garret Morgan was a man, a man who had a passion, a man who was filled with curiosity. He had a gift that he didn't want to waste. Morgan, lived in Kentucky with his family. When Morgan was only in sixth grade he had to drop out of school to help support his family. Eventually Morgan's curiosity got to him and he decided to leave Kentucky to put his mind to work.

In 1895 Morgan had traveled to Cleveland, Ohio and had a job where he swept floors in a clothing factory. Soon he had came up with an invention from keeping the sewing machines from breaking down. From that invention, Morgan got a $150 dollar bonus. 16 years after, Morgan had came up with another invention that could help firefighters, that invention was called a "safety hood" . This invention , helped saved many people's lives when men were working in a tunnel, only to be shocked by a toxic gas spiraling through the tunnel. Morgans invention had been able to save two lucky inventions. …show more content…
