True Devotee Is True God Zingraji passed away at the early age of Gadge Baba.Thereafter, he had to go with mother Sakhubai to his maternal uncle’s village, Dapura.With the passage of time,the feelings of vairagya developed in him slowly and steadily. Though he was involved in the familial responsibilities, the thoughts in his conscience were promoting him to detachment from all the worldly attachments. However, at his young age, he gave up his family along with wife and children,and started a journey of a new life to be given to society for its upliftment. This shows Gadge Baba as an embodiment of stern vairagya.He started sadawarta-Annadaan(incessant food- giving) at Pandharpur. He openedcow-guarding house (Gorakshan) and Dharmashala at Murtijapur. Along with such social services, Gadge Baba incessantly did Kirtanas for the real upliftment of the people.
Gadge Baba used to tell the people assertivelythrough Kirtansthat God dwells in the human beings.Byjustified it with an abhanga-
“Tirthi Dhinda Paani, Deo Rokada Sajjani”
(At pilgrimage there are stones and water, God is in righteous people).
He convincingly told the people that God is not there at the place of pilgrimage in the idol of stone, nor would you find Him by becoming a pilgrim, going to four pilgrimages (Charidhaam). During his Kirtan, Gadge Baba would ask

Gadge Baba wanted to show them the real God in the mind of him and not of people. He said that as water and the ripples(tarang) as well as bubbles risingon it cannot be separated, the same is true of the God and his devotee. We cannot separate both the God and his devotee from each other.
