C. This video was really depressing for many reasons. These kids are constantly bullied, and in their schools, nothing is done about it. It is sad to see that it does not seem to be getting much better. Sometimes, the teachers are the one’s doing the bullying. This is infuriating because I know several people that are gay and most of them are not in your face about it, they are not trying to rub the fact that they are gay in my face. They are just normal people and that is not how the world sees them. Life is really difficult for these children and it is just sad that they have to go through things such as bullying. The world today is not great by any means. I feel that this part of the world could really use some work. That is how it is for these kids. That is extremely disappointing. I became very concerned about the lives and struggles of those who are bullied for this reason.

D1. Most of the people that I know that have come out are not really discriminated against. I would assume that is because they know who they can be around and who they cannot. I guess my assumptions coming into this video was that gay people were not very discriminated against. I was very, very wrong. They are discriminated against a large amount and it is wrong that they

    1. The information I gained from the two videos is safety and the fear of their families and society not being acceptable of their lifestyle (Line, 2015) (Maddux, 2012). As well as the safety of their children because it impacts their lives as well because peers and others will make inappropriate comments about the lifestyle of their parents, which is why Charlotte is so concern about the children well-being. The video also clarifies why it is so difficult for elderly as well as teens to come out about their lifestyle in LBGT community because they do not want to be judged by others or called incongruous names for who they choose to have as a partner. Also, the case states how it is difficult for Mrs. Charlotte to find a job even after her great work ethic and her completion of the culinary training program and in the elderly video it stays how being LBGT was frowned upon back in the day and the same situation is going on with Mrs. Charlotte and her friends in this case.…

Personally, I found the film The Mask You Live In very eye opening. It focuses around how young boys are taught to portray their assigned gender and how they carry the lessons they are given into manhood. From as young as six years old, a boy is taught not to show emotion; that crying and hugging and any public displays of affection towards friends or loved ones in too feminine and unmanly. Boys learn to watch their father figures and associate them as the ideal role model for masculinity. When a father shows aggression towards a woman who then starts to cry, a young boy would not initially know what to make of it, and would possibly then associate violence with being manly and strong emotions as weak and girly.…

Opposing this opinion, bullying, whatever the reason behind it is, is still wrong and may end up fatal. One of the most famous cases is the case of Tyler Clementi, who commits suicide after being filmed by two students engaging a sexual activity with a person of the same gender. Between July and September 2010, a series of youth suicide occurred, all believed to be a victim of homosexual bullying (Mellin & Hinojosa, 2011). Bullying might not be considered a serious case, but it creates discrimination amongst student. The teenager tends to be more emotionally fragile and continues bullying might lead to depression and in extreme cases, suicide.…
