Definition and examples of the following terms:
Interactionalist theory: Explains that symbols are considered meaningful on everyday social interactions to explain society as a whole by addressing the subjective meanings that people impose on objects, events, and behaviors. For example, "smoking." There are thousands of ads that promote the dangers of smoking for the human body, but people still do. The answer lies in the definition of the situation that people creates. For example, at a party, young people tend to smoke because they think it's cool and that it's a way to be part of the popular group. Regardless of all the risk and disease, it provokes.

Some of the examples that would be used in the conflict theory are authority, inequality, and competition. To illustrate, Authority takes account of the family, the government, race, and ethnicity. In addition, In inequality, there is family, health, and property. Then there is competition which; can be anything from education, religion, gender.
Social Distance: Describes the distance between different groups of society.The concept of social distance was developed to advance understanding of processes of acceptance and estrangement between groups of people in cities where people who belong to different groups come into regular contact with one another. For example, watch a Japanese person talking at a party with a person from the Western countryside. The Japanese will step in and the Westerner will step back. Speeded up it is like a dance around the room.
Immigration: the process of people establishing homes, and often citizenship, in a country that is not their native country. In others words, it can be defined as, Moving to a new country to live there permanently. For example, Millions of immigrants came to America from Europe in the 19th
