I came in with all the teachers, I sat through all four blocks, I went to lunch with the teachers, and the teachers and I went home at the same time. I got to experience true lesson planning both on my own and with Mr. Peters. He helped me step by step, but also allowed me to figure things out on my own to fit my teaching style. Throughout the day, I had to apply myself in several different ways to make the classroom run smoothly; I was a cadet, a teacher, an assistant, and a copy maker. Being at Farmwell for a full day allowed me to meet so many incredible teachers and assistants. The best part of it all was seeing all

For many Canadians, the Victoria Day long weekend is the unofficial start of the cottage season (Statutory Holidays, 2017, para.1). For pool owners, “A general rule of thumb is to wait until the May long weekend to open the family pool”. (Northumberland News, 2015, para. 2.) While I was at my tour at the William George Agency, I have learned three new things that were related to juveniles. The first thing that I learned on the tour was that the juveniles there on the campus are allowed to participate in athletic sport competitions against other high schools around them, even one of the schools they compete against is a school that’s in my home town. The Impact of the lesson for me was that, knowing the kids from William George school were allowed to play in competitive games against other schools, it gave them a chance to have fun and explore in something new that could possibly grow on them as a new interest that could then pursue them on setting future goals, because I am a firm believer of sports being a gateway…

Have you ever felt the need to take a day off school because of high stress and anxiety levels? Studies have shown that teenagers have recently shown an increase in stress, depression, and anxiety levels. This can lead to poor school performance. Should students have to go to school when they feel mentally unstable or should mental health days be a valid excuse for an absence. I believe that students should be able to use mental health as a valid excuse, just as sick days because it is quite impossible to focus on school and classwork when on the verge of a mental breakdown or on the verge of tears.…

Over the course of the past week, we focused on three different types of dialogues. In Makau and Marty’s Dialogue and Deliberation, they stated that dialogue is easier said than done, and after participating and leading one myself, I couldn’t agree more. Throughout this paper, I’m going to reflect on how I prepared myself for not only listening but facilitating, my thoughts on how I participated on both sides during the dialogues, and my overall thoughts of the dialogues. While preparing for the first day of dialogue, I was very thorough. I took my own notes for each section and even wrote down some of my own questions.…
