The French central government is composed of the President, Prime Minister, and the legislative branch. Currently, the French President is François Hollande and serves a five year term. He is the commander and chief of the armed forces, conducts treaties with other countries, and presides over the cabinet. When an emergency arises he may assume full power. This differs in that the American President does not really take recommendations on who should serve on his cabinet. However, the Senate does have to approve but they usually approve anyone that the President one because the President can have anyone he wants in their cabinet. The French Legislative Branch is similar to the American Legislative Branch because in order for a law to become a law in either county it must be passed by both chambers. The California Supreme Court judges serve a 12 year term. Whereas, judges in the federal courts are appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate. Judges in federal courts serve lifetime terms. Before United States Supreme Court appointments and hearings e become more popular in current the president would get his choose. In my opinion, the more important area to control was inside the French Empire. He already controlled most of Europe, and if he didn't focus on what he already had, the people in the French Empire would angry that he was neglecting the people who stuck by his side. Also, if he had controlled more of Europe, he wouldn't be able to control his other countries. By 1812, the only parts of Europe not under his control were Britain, Portugal, Sweden, and the Ottoman Empire. Besides the French Empire he controlled many small, independent countries including Spain, the Grand Duchy of Warsaw, and multiple German Kingdoms in Middle Europe.…

There are many opinions on how to achieve this goal: appointment by the governor, election by the voters and the merit selection. The merit select is a method of choosing judges using a nonpartisan commission of locate, investigate, evaluate and recruit applicants for the judicial system. Given the inequality between the president and the premier, one might ask, can we truly consider the Republic of France to be a duel-executive political system? This can also be known as a semi-presidential system where the roles of the president and the prime minister are both considered being political leaders. The problem is found in the amount of dominance that the president has over his appointee. It might be argued that France is considered a fully presidential system because of the extensive power that the president holds to check others and maintain their position, and, in contrast, the lack of power that all the other areas of government have on the president to maintain a balance of power. When you think about it, to create a true…
