Freetown does have a major seaport where most of Sierra Leone’s major export of iron ore is shipped. Only about 5% of the population has dependable electricity, but they suffer from brown outs during sand and dust storms. The poor economy also causes the health care facilities of Freetown to suffer from lack of supplies and properly trained medical staff.1
(U) Analysis Comment: The infrastructure of Freetown should not be depended on for assistance. From the potential loss of electricity during sand and dust storms, to the lack of properly staffed and supplied medical facilities, any unit operating within Freetown should have a solid plan in place for sustaining itself
