When I start teaching full time I will be sure to pay attention to how my students feel and think. Children are smart and though it may not seem as if they understand or know what is going on in society, they react to it just as adults do. It is important we teach students about these issues so that they know how to behave and treat others because social justice will always exist and all students deserve support. I will learn about how my students live, learn, and think. Students that are appreciated are more successful and my goal as an educator is to create successful students and have a positive impact on them.
While living in the United States I have come to realize that American education is much different than education in my home country. One of the major differences I have seen in American education refers to the teaching of other languages. Children in other countries, like my home country, learn languages at very young ages. Other countries ensure that diversity is a regular part of their children’s minds. In Saudi Arabia children learn two language while in elementary school and continue that language until high school.
