In a Facebook message posted on Sunday, Rev. Franklin Graham asked his followers about the things or principles that they would be willing to take a bullet for. Citing the biblical story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego who chose to be thrown into a fiery furnace rather than bow down before King Nebuchadnezzar’s idol, the evangelist said Christians should be willing to martyr themselves or subject themselves to God’s wrath, Raw Story relays.

Graham encouraged his followers to go against American laws that run in conflict with their biblical beliefs. He called on Christians and pastors to stand firm and not give in to the kind of culture that society dictates.
“I want to call on every Christian and every pastor to stand firm like these patriarchs of old and not bow to the secular, increasingly godless culture in which we live—even when (not if) we’re criticized, mocked, and labeled intolerant,” Graham added.
Meanwhile, The New Civil Rights Movement (NCRM) reporter David Badash reacted to Rev. Graham’s Facebook post, calling the message “disturbing.” He questioned if the Christian evangelist was inciting violence against members of the LGBT community in order to establish their stance against “sin.”
In addition, Badash wondered if Graham thinks the LGBT community poses a danger to Christians and if the latter should sacrifice their lives to make an anti-LGBT point.
