Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Efforts Franklin D. Roosevelt did a lot to help in the Great Depression. He made his new deal. A deal he promised while he was running fro presidency. The new deal helped banks get going again and help people get off the streets and get jobs. Which leads to unemployment rate. Roosevelt brought unemployment rate for 25% down to 14%.Roosevelt ensured working citizens of the US minimum wage. This helped bring up GNP (Gross National Product). All things helped but what really sealed the deal was his new deal.

With his new deal he formed a “brain trust”. His brain trust was a group of economic advisors who formed agencies to help the US. Some of these are the AAA (Agriculture Adjustment Administration) which helped farm prices, or the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) which employed young men. The most important of these groups was the NRA (National Recovery Administration) which regulates wages and prices. While these agencies were doing this Franklin D. Roosevelt was able to close all the banks, halting the deposits. This allowed the banks to rebound, springing up. Roosevelt did all this during the Great Depression and his presidency but he did a lot if thing outside of it
