Four-Week Insect Investigation

Students participated in a four-week insect investigation which included science labs and research. In addition to informational texts, students also read biographies, graphic novels, and poetry. Second graders share their thoughts and feelings by composing paragraphs with clear main ideas and supportive details. Your child has written a collection of personal narratives, opinion pieces, and informational text. Writing for a variety of different purposes helps second graders convey their ideas at a deeper level. Math concepts for this trimester included (+) (-) three-digit number, money, measurement and time.
