The sample consisted of twenty-five foster parents, fifteen where in the intervention group and ten where in the control group. The foster parents were paid forty to fifty dollars to complete each interview. The intervention consisted of sixteen sessions of 90-minute foster parent groups, held weekly at an agency, in neighborhoods close to parents who wanted to attend, or up to sixteen home visits that covered the same material discussed in the group sessions.
