Fossils allow us to see into the past. By studying fossils, we can see how the species has changed from the past. As the conditions of the earth changed, animals and plants begin to evolve in order to adapt better to their new environment. Through this we can find out what the environment was that they were living. And by studying the fossil changes we can see just how the environment changed and how the species changed in order to adapt. For example, bipedalism as humans began to live away from forest and in more flatland places.
