Fossil Record

Evolution is different kinds of living organisms . They are thought to have developed and diversified from earlier forms during the history of life on earth . Evolution is also the development of something from a simple complex form . It is change in the heritable traits of biological populations over successive generations . For example the closest thing to a human is a chimpanzee .

Fossil Record is one examples of evolution it is life's evolutionary epic that unfolded over four billion years ago . It has environmental conditions and genetic potential interacted in accordance . Fossil record plays a part in natural selection as well animals are things that are made to live on this earth and die quickly hoping one of their children make it . In the fossil record you will see some animals that did not live very long to keep reproducing and you will see the ones that have lived long enough to reproduce and develop .

Embryology is another example of evolution it studies the development of gametes which are sex cells . It also is fertilization and development of embryos and fetuses

Homologous structure are structures that are similar to other species . For example a bat and a human have all the same parts in their arm but a bat uses its arms and hands to fly while we use are to lift and touch . Analogous structures are structures that pertain to the various structures in different species having the same appearances . Examples are a bat and a butterfly they both use their wings to fly but a butterfly has no bones and a bat does . Vestigial structures are structures that seemingly have no purpose or function . In your body you have a appendix that you do not need and you do not yous it is just their . A whale has a bone for a leg that was once their but is not their any more so their for it's just floating or sitting their doing nothing

The dictionary states that evolution is the process of developing growth. In the bible it is thought that god created everything we see today, from the land we walk on to the animals we interact with. Science claims that every living creature was made of an organism that changed over a period of time. To the current day some people continue to believe that the bible proves how we were created. Others, including myself feel that science evolved us from Apes to humans.…

After I read the article “Body Ritual among the Nacirema”, I find that Nacirema is a tribe of “magic-hidden people” (Miner 507). In the article, the author writes, “they are a North American group living in the territory between the Canadian Creel the Yaqui and Tarahumare of Mexico, and the Carib and Arawak of the Antilles. Little is known of their origin, although tradition states that they came from the east” (Miner 503). The author clearly states that the Nacirema live as a little-known North American group. They are really Americans, because I find that Nacirema spelled backwards is American.…

Evolution There have been many arguments on the topic evolution. In the Qualia Soup video: Evolution, the topic will be broken down and the truth will finally be revealed. The scientific theory of evolution explains how living organism develop and diversity over generations. It not explains the origins and development of the universe as in cosmogenesis. It also does not explain how life first began such as abiogenesis.…

The idea of evolution was once taboo for its new ideas at the time, it was seen as wrong because it challenged ideas already established about the world, especially how life came to be. Evolution is a relatively new idea discovered by Charles Darwin. This discovery came to be when Darwin was traveling along the Galapagos islands where he studied finches and discovered that these finches had all originated from one species of finch and eventually became differentiated leading the species to split, based on their environment. However evolution doesn’t just occur, it takes centuries or even millennia to take place and it isn’t the species that adapt to the environment, the environment selects those who survive. This means that only species with favored characteristics for that environment would be allowed to survive and produce offspring while those who do not have these favored characteristics would become extinct, dividing these species into more groups.…

Fossils allow us to see into the past. By studying fossils, we can see how the species has changed from the past. As the conditions of the earth changed, animals and plants begin to evolve in order to adapt better to their new environment. Through this we can find out what the environment was that they were living. And by studying the fossil changes we can see just how the environment changed and how the species changed in order to adapt.…

How do scientists explain and support the argument for biological evolution? From the recent trip to the Minnesota Zoo, labs performed in class and multiple readings these things have shown students the dynamics of evolution. Scientists, like Charles Darwin, who have focused studies on certain organisms like the Galapagos Island finches have played a large role in our knowledge today about biological evolution, natural selection and descent with modification. Over many generations and an extended period of time the genetic change of an organism is bound to happen, these changes are called biological evolution.…

I agree with the theory of evolution because there are many evidence for it. The evidence includes fossil record, species distributions, vertebrate development process and fossil layers and so on. First, fossil is very important for understanding biological evolution. It can tell us how the living creature evolved.…

Fossils tell the story of the past, the past history of Earth organisms in the time from of about 3.8 billion years to now. There is much to learn about our past for the future. We can learn about dinosaurs, animals and plants. We can also learn about their relationship with each other. Today, we have many items that come from fossils.…

Pieces of evidence of the Theory of Evolution An example of evidence supported by the theory of evolution is the traits of some animals and the type of food they eat. For example, birds with triangular-shaped bill usually eat seeds; birds with long bill eat fish, also birds with slim and long bill eat nectar. Evolutionists believe that these differences between them were a natural adaptation to survival, which is inconsistent, taking account that birds have the capacity to immigrate, looking for food in different environments. Also, to determine if the bill of the different species of birds has been adapted to the environment or if they always have the same characteristic since the beginning and were created to balance the ecosystem, only…

Evolution refers to change that occurs in a population over time. These changes are produced at the genetic level as organisms’ genes mutate in different ways during reproduction. Evolution is a change in the gene pool of a population over time. Populations simply adapt to their surroundings. Lots of things change over time.…

Many scientists and political leaders have constantly questioned the theory of evolution and how it has no significant value. But how can evolution be wrong when there is scientific evidence supporting it? Evolution is the theory that all things evolved from a common ancestor, and you can show that with fossils. Fossils will allow you to see the common ancestry between certain species with transitioning fossils.…

This idea of evolution simply states that over many generations of a species, they will undergo some sort of genetic change. This change can be over time can range from something very subtle to a massive change, thus creating something quite different from the original species. All species will not evolve at the same rate, because the rate of change depends on the evolutionary pressures they experience (Coyne 3-4). The next part of the evolutionary theory is gradualism. Similar to the first concept of evolution, gradualism suggests that it takes many generations of change to produce a substantial evolutionary change.…

Evolution is a change in populations over time. It is the population that evolves, rather than an individual. There are four mechanisms of evolution: mutation, gene flow, genetic drift, and natural selection. There were multiple contributors to the ideas of evolution, including Charles Darwin and Alfred Wallace. To begin with, mutations cause genetic variation.…

“It is no the strongest of species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change.” This quote was once said by the father of evolution himself, Charles Darwin who spent his life’s work on learning all he can about evolution. In the world we live in all organisms change, and were not the same thousands of years ago as they are today. There are two main theories to this process; scientific theory and religious theory.…
