Fossil High School Observation Report

Improved Essays
This year was a pretty great year because I got to discover the world of high school. Although there were ups and downs overall it was great. Fossil was very welcoming at the beginning of the year. This was the craziest year of school I have ever encountered. Freshman year helped in many ways.

I was introduced to a variety of differents things to join because of club rush I got involved. The club I got to take part of this year was DECA (business roleplay). DECA was amazing. Although I didn't take business I actually learned from DECA. After DECA I wanted to play a sport so I did Wrestling. What I learned is that you are more likely to make friends if you are involved in an after school activity because you share the same interests.

Coming into ninth grade I had no idea what I was going to do, but Fossil helped me. My class Advisory helped me make a plan for college and classes I need to take later on. Advisory wasn't the only class that helped Intro to Business. Business helped me learn how to make a detailed resume and how to make a efficient job interview.

The first day I came Fossil was very welcoming sounded like a positive community of students. Later on after the first semester I started to learn more about the community at Fossil. There has been many cases of bullying and drugs going on. I have witnessed the use of drugs and vaping in the bathrooms. This may sound like a bad thing but actually good the witnessed this. Why, because I have learned what drugs can do to you. Without the Life con presentation at the beginning of the year. I could have been sucked into the addiction of drugs through peer pressure. Now this is something that happens at almost every high school today something that is hard to control. It was very devastating to lose good friends over bad choices they made. Thanks to that experience I have learned a life lesson on what drugs can do to

Besides the teamwork and communication skills that I have developed through participation in interscholastic activities, taking part in these events has given me the opportunity to meet new people, step out of my comfort zone, and discover more about myself. I have met many students from other schools through participation in extracurricular activities, and as a result, I have established friendships and other connections with people from all over North Dakota. Interscholastic activities have also helped me overcome my insecurity and step outside my comfort zone. When I was in junior high, I was shy and did not feel comfortable pushing myself beyond what I thought I could do. Today, because of the skills I have developed through activities…
