Rick Wormeli’s video on Formative and Summative Assessment was absolutely educational. He speaks about the importance of Formative Assessment, discusses how teachers might actually be spending too much time on their Summative Assessment instead of the Formative Assessment. He also made a valid point in which he says students can learn without Summative Assessment but students learn much more when they formatively assessed. Formative Assessment should be the primary resource teachers use to guide their classes. Many grade school teachers in Florida are worried about how well their students do on Criterion Reference Test.…
During my time in my Kindergarten LAL/Math resource classroom I observed a student, who will be referred to as Ally for confidentiality reasons. Specifically, I observed Ally’s number recognition ability. Ally is currently five years old and is in her seventh month of Kindergarten. Ally lives at home with her mother, father, and older brother Mathew. Ally’s parents are very involved in her school life.…
One thing that I learned about myself after taking the five assessments in FOCUS 2 was that I wanted to changed my major from political science to Sport and Recreation Management because of my new love and passion I got from fitness and I feel I can help more people this way. Another reason why I choose this major is because I believe it best suit my personality. I love working out, playing sports and love helping those individuals who want to become something more. I want to play sports for the rest of my life and after I retire, I want to mold individuals or team to reach their full potential. I would love to be a politician some day…
Lesson 6 Learning Assessment For the evaluation of the Agency Culture Assessment, I am doing it on Children’s Hope Foster Family Agency on the program Transitional Housing Program (THP). Doing a qualitative approach is actually simple with the THP clients. I will consider doing a 12-month research since that is the average time that the youth stay in the program. For the key informants, I would choose social workers outside the agency who are knowledgeable of the THP population and people who are knowledgeable on how to conduct a qualitative approach.…

The best course of action for this appointment is to get signed consent to obtain the patient's medical records from the other providers where she used to live. Obtaining the records will help the current provider have an overall picture of what all has already been diagnosed for the patient and the treatments that she has received in the past. The next step would be to complete as thorough as a history as possible to gain as much information on the patient and her history since birth. The history should also include the patient's social, gross motor, fine motor, and language development. After a verbal history is obtained, then the provider will need to perform a complete physical exam on the patient.…
Each child was able to come up and place a number in a number line on a piece of tape. The next day, we guessed what numbers could be if they were turned over on the number line. They used their x-ray vision to guess the numbers. They were able to explain in mathematics how they came up with their answer. I then taught them a game.…
Please list and describe 2 instructional strategies you can use to improve Emma’s reading fluency. 1. Word accuracy comes before speed. Sean, I agree with you having a strong and steady principal. I have seen too many schools that the principal wasn't strong enough and these school test scores and their ratings were low too. In order to have a successful school you need a strong and steady principal and great teachers as well. Selene, I was thinking about this strategy as well. It is a good strategy in which I was considering to chose.…
Students who are defined as gifted and talented are students who possess abilities and talents that can be demonstrated, or have the potential for being developed, at exceptionally high levels. Four instructional strategies that I would use to keep Nikki, a gifted and talented student in my class, challenged while still addressing the needs of the remainder of my students includes… 1. Give Nikki the ability to adapt her assignments/projects in my class a. Allowing Nikki to choose, with my direction, ways to learn and how to demonstrate what they have learned in different ways that include critical thinking. 2. Incorporate additional challenge problems a. Include a folder with challenge problems and deeper level thinking problems on the current…
In the learning style assessments that I have taken the most important things I have learned about myself and the way I learn, is how I grasp information through a more logical approach along with visuals. I have experienced this in the duration of my first college semester and also throughout High School as well. I have always gravitated toward technological/scientific oriented classes. Computer Maintenance was my favorite course in High School. I experienced hands on IT work fixing computers, and visuals of computer components.…

Although teaching is a field that is extremely rewarding, it also comes with its share of challenges. These challenges can be overcome, however, if the teacher believes in their students ability to learn, and is able to inspire and motivate them. The teacher can accomplish this task through motivating the students through lessons, tests, and a positive classroom environment. If the teacher is fully committed to their student’s best interests, the classroom will ultimately succeed, even if there are challenges along the way.…
