course football, which only means on thing it is thanksgiving and yearly tradition that is football on thanksgiving. This year slate of games have both playoffs implications, as well as possible perfect season implications with the three games slated for thanksgiving this should be entertaining and exciting to watch after spending time with loves ones and recovering from eating to near coma levels.
The first of the these three games Is the Philadelphia eagles vs. the Detroit lions
Detroit lions 3-7 AFC North vs. Philadelphia eagles 4-6 NFC East
Detroit Lions
The Detroit lions and Philadelphia eagles’ seasons are heading into two different directions this year, the eagles who are fighting for the division lead with the giants after the injuries to tony romo and dez Bryant derailed the cowboy’s season. Though the returning romo in last week game win over the dolphins, after coming back from broken collarbone and Bryant already back from surgery on his foot should pose as interesting scenario in the coming weeks as it seems the team to 9-7 first in the division will most likely take the crown as champions in the weak as of late NFC east. The Detroit lion’s season has been a struggle to say the least, after high hopes of the season outlook from last year making the playoffs, the loss of key free agents Reggie bush, who at times was the catalyst for the offense out of the backfield, as well on defense losing olb. C.j. Mosley, DT Ndamukong, Suh, DT nick Fairley to free agency swapping them for DT Haloti Ngata via trade and DT Tyrunn Walker who is on IR and done for the season Although the last two weeks beating Dereck Carr and the raiders, and stunningly rare defeat of green bay packers in green bay has said otherwise the match this Thursday against the Philadelphia eagles will pose as interesting matchup. The Detroit lions are struggling to find their offensive threat with Calvin Johnson basically being nonexistent in the end zone with only 3 touchdown total.

Due to poor offense blocking up front to protect Matthew Stafford the lions have struggled the owner of the Detroit lions Martha for has recently fired the teams’ president Tom Lewand and general manager Martin Mayhew November 5 and before then fired the offense coordinator Joe Lombardi, offensive line coach Jeremiah Washburn and assistant offensive line coach Terry Heffernan to infuse some life.
Keys to win:
For the lions to win they are going to have eventually fin Calvin Johnson in the end zone, Johnson has only 3 touchdown this seasons Matthew Stafford is going to need the help of the o-line to protect him but more importantly he going to need running game in a big way.
Ameer Abdullah who was the potential break out star back the lions was looking for earlier in the season has had problems all season keeping his hands on the ball losing 4 fumbles this season. Joique bell hasn’t fare any better in 50 rushing attempts bell has only generated 138 total yards with a 2.8 per avg Abdullah has been relegated to the bench in favor of Theo Riddick this week matchup against the eagles should pose fascinating situation given that the eagles just gave up 235 yards in rushing to Doug martin and the bucs, what the lions three headed rushing team of Riddick, bell, Abdullah can do on the rushing attack. Calvin Johnson and golden Tate: Calvin Johnson and golden Tate need to find ways to get open, though Calvin Johnson is starting heat up in terms of receptions, and yards it can’t go unnoticed that he only has 3 total touchdown this season he has to find ways to get a small window long enough for Stafford feed him the ball. If not Calvin Johnson golden Tate is next man up he needs to provide help as the second threat in receiving in order to free up Johnson Player spotlight: The running game: The running game is the player spotlight and are the key essential to getting the lions offense going, the lions backs are going to have to produce for the lions to stand

Doug Pederson, a former temporary Quarterback for the Eagles and former assistant coach under Andy Reid, understands that a positive environment is a great first step for leading a team to success. Pederson is not a motivator unlike many other coaches, as he prefers to read from a script and chooses to be straightforward with his players since he was once a player himself. One of the most disheartening aspect of the blowout loss to the Arizona Cardinals was our rookie running back’s habitual inability to hold on to the football.
