FoodMatters was an eye-opening video that discussed and showed many concepts that have never crossed my mind. The video made me reconsider the way I am living my life. The documentary mentioned how every time we get sick, we are prescribed medication to fix our illness. I never realized how often true that statement is. For example, I went to the doctor two weeks ago and I had a simple sinus infection. I was prescribed an antibiotic. It made me realize that every time I go to a doctor, I am usually prescribed a medication. It is shocking to see how dependent we are on medications. Finally, the last subject that grabbed my attention the most was when they said the origin for all medical issues are due to our nutrition. For example, they discussed how people with cardiovascular disease improved their diets and took supplements which could reverse the disease. They mentioned how if we all ate vegetarian diets we would make our bodies cleansed and healthy. This information really affected me. I don’t always think about what I am eating, or if it is healthy or not. What food choices I make now are going to affect my health when I am fifty. That timeline is hard to comprehend because I am only twenty years old right now. The documentary leads me to think that if I eat all vegetarian food I will have less of chance of having health concerns. I honestly believe that it would eliminate many diseases or risk factors I could have and it makes me want to do what I can to live a long healthy life. In the video they state how all of these health issues need to be cured from the main source, which they think is our diet and health. Do you think that in the society we live in today have the capability to take charge and target our diets as the video insinuates would help many
