To begin, FAMU is located in Tallahassee, Florida, a city that I had wanted to attend college in since I was in elementary school. Tallahassee is a city of containing and surrounded by many events and opportunities, so no matter your preferred “scene,” you are likely to be able to find something you do. One of my biggest end-goals for college was (and is) to graduate as close to debt-free as possible. I did not want to have to worry about money while in college for fear that it would lead to a distraction and potential drop in my grades. So when applying to colleges, I was absolutely ecstatic to find that I had received the DSA Full scholarship from FAMU.
