Flatworm Research Paper

I will be writing an informative paper about parasitic flatworms. The Merriam Webster dictionary defines Parasitism as an animal or plant that lives in or on another animal or plant and gets food or protection from it. S. haematobium is the parasitic disease caused by parasitic worms that could infect the urinary tract or intestines. In those who have been infected for a good amount of time liver damage, kidney failure and infertility may occur. The disease is usually spread by contact, water that contains the parasite or ingestion. One way you could find out if you are infected by the parasite is if you see egg’s in a person’s urine or stool. Rhabditophora and its phylum family could also infect cattle. The name of the parasite that infects cattle are the lungworms which cause parasitic bronchitis in cows. For cattle, the disease is usually seen in mature or adult cattle when its high rainfall and mild temperatures which no one actually knows when the cattle would be infected but when it does it could be fatal. Lungworms have five stages. The first stage is when the larvae get ingested. The next stage is when the larvae get into the intestinal wall then migrate into the lungs via bloodstream then lands in the lung where stays there until it becomes an adult lungworm. After, the process of the lungworm happens and infect the cattle he processes starts over when the lungworm produces a larva and the cattle coughed up and ingested back into the stomach and comes out as feces. Next, I will talk about pork tapeworms. Pork tapeworm usually infects humans and pigs. In some of the patients that pork tapeworm infects humans could actually have cysts in the brain.
