Not everybody knows if that was good or bad because many people had always heard rumor about Gatsby that is always will be a mystery. Every weekend, Gatsby would have thrown a huge lavish party, where famous and infamous just randomly shows up at his house and party. “The modesty of the demand shook me. He had waited five years and bought a mansion where he dispensed starlight to casual moths--so that he could come over some afternoon to a stranger's garden.”(pg. 78). There is always a lot of things going on in Gatsby’s house and these parties continued to shine brightly where everyone in town could see. “Gatsby begins to give parties, to which everyone is invited, in the hope Daisy will come to one of them.” (Thomas Daniel Young) This ties with his obsession with Daisy. Gatsby threw these parties in hopes that his woman who lives across the bay from him to come to the party one day. Unfortunately, that never happens. Everyone can see that Gatsby really does get his money. Not many people could throw this huge party that is so expensive but Gatsby. Gatsby was able to at least get the American dream that he has wanted. He experienced the love for Daisy which completely torn him apart throughout the novel. He also got popular through his lavish parties he had always host for everybody and he uses that advantage to get Daisy to come back. In order to have this kind of big party, they have to have the money to do this, which he accomplished that also. Apparently, it is clear enough that he got the money through bootlegging and doing illegal crimes, like stealing. Of course, it was clear to see that Gatsby really has done it and his life ended tragically taking those achievements with
