Youth programs go along the same lines, as they can find anything that engages their mind and introduces them to other kids who have the same interests. Peaceful conflict resolution is good because diving conflict nonviolently can calm your mind and thoughts, and you can make reasonable decisions instead of rushed, non-thoughtful decisions. Even though it doesn't seem like it, caring can be a key factor for conflict resolution. When you care more, you are more likely to be more assertive, relaxed, and nice towards the other person. Instead, if you are not caring, you are more likely to be aggressive and not care if they get hurt. Then, I would help them to develop a step by step plan to achieve their fitness goals, with an emphasis on smaller, more easily achievable goals that they can check off on a daily basis. This emphasis on smaller task goals will foster an increased sense of motivation and help each client to track their progress daily in terms of their own “goal checklist”. I would use the task goal orientation to set goals so that each client can focus on being better than they were the previous session. This helps would help clients to track their progress, and allow them to see their own progression in comparison to their previous performances. If they believe that they are in competition with only themselves, then they will be less likely to compare their progress to others around them, thereby reducing feelings of dissatisfaction with their own personal fitness…

One of the main problems seen in the article “Goal-Directed Physical Education For Learners With Disabilities” by Francis M. Kozub is a problem that is still seen at many schools even though there have been laws made to address these kinds of issues. A teacher was assigned a physical education class and had 10 kids with disabilities and only one assistant was there to help him with the class. Not only was he lacking help, he was assigned only a cafeteria for him to use. He was also a first year teacher so he was very overwhelmed and frustrated. The American with Disabilities Act states that there should be equal opportunities for program benefits, including those individuals with disabilities but that clearly is not always the case.…

Magis is one of Fairfield’s core Jesuit values. Although, by definition, magis means “more,” sometimes the best way to spread the spirit is through small gestures. For example, smiling, holding the door for others, reaching for a box of cereal for someone from the top shelf, or being patient in a long line; and saying please and thank you. Through the years, I have learned that the spirit is showing love to everyone no matter the circumstances. To me, magis means being your best self.…

Position power or legitimate dominance is essential when discussing the pecking order within any group or organization. In most organizations an order of precedence is valuable in the operations of teams and small groups. A chain-of-command would be necessary when dealing with problems or simple matters which could be handled at the lower level of management. Individual or referent power in group settings are beneficial when the leader is comfortable and able to help the group achieve organization goals. However, when the leader is only occupied with selfish gain this could present a massive inconvenience for the other group members.…
