My responsibilities included coordinating daily operations, directing staff activities and providing strategic direction to prioritize, mitigate, and resolve program conflicts. I provided oversight of the operational needs of the Federal Flight Deck Officer (FFDO) Program, development of a formalized compliance process and supervised the FFDO Transportation Security Operations (TSOC)-Watch Desk. I managed the development and implementation of a 2.5 million dollar logistical database to manage scheduling, operations, training, compliance and provide comprehensive reporting of FFDO activities. As part of the development, I gained consensus with airline partners and facilitated “win-win” solutions while introducing this enhanced database capability. Leveraging my communication skills allowed me to influence, negotiate and reach a mutual understanding of all parties. I developed a quality assurance program, similar to the FAMS QA, where members of FPD would make unannounced visits to FFDOs in the airport environment. This very productive program increased compliance and allowed face-to-face meetings between FFDOs and FPD staff
