Fawlty tower’s is a famous British television sitcom that invokes several different types of satirical and sarcastic types of humour. Thanks to the use of this humour the t.v. series was slowly gaining popularity and became known as one of the ‘’greats’’. Fawlty tower’s has been around for over fifty years, but back when the series was still irrelevant it was listed as the number one British and thanks to this the series is noted as a legend. The show also includes a questionable amount of character development because if the show’s producers had gone deep into the characters then there might not have been enough of its well-known humour such as slapstick and satire.

A language technique is a figure of speech. It is known as an expression that uses language in a very funny way, such as alliteration or assonance, to achieve a rhetorical type of effect. Some examples of Fawlty towers’ language techniques include Absurdity which is a situation that more or less doesn’t follow logic, Bombast which is talking in a high flown, grandiloquent or rhetorical matter which best describes Basil, Chase is when someone is in the pursuit of something which is what Basil mostly does when Manuel pushes his anger to the limit, Exaggeration is when a person would make an exaggerative statement, Impersonation is when someone would imitate a person or thing such as when Manuel was imitating Basil and started yelling at the workers like Basil would. But the most famous and most used would be slapstick, this word best describes Basil as he often pushes and shoves Manuel and degrades almst everybody he has ever met unless they are of higher status for example ‘’lord’’. Overall Fawlty towers’ use of these techniques allow It to really prosper and stand above all the
