Fate, the idea of an unavoidably predestination that rule over people's life. And free will, the idea that an individuals actions are what will determine his or hers future. Both this ideas are present in Macbeth, the play by William Shakespeare.
At the very beginning of the play, the main character, Macbeth, hears a prophecy that he will soon be king, but that the heirs of his friend Banquo will rule after him. The plot is staged, as Macbeth fulfills part of the prophecy of becoming Thane of Cawdor, without even triyng it appears that fate masters the play. But from this moment on, Macbeth and his wife assume over the prophecy and make it happen in their own terms by killing the king, and anyone that could treat their goal. Illustrating
