Take a closer look at the changeable current of the river, still waves of the sea or the stormy ocean: they hide many secrets, yet when one knows he is ready to deep a toe into the seemingly treacherous water – that is where the journey begins, and it is a matter of decision how one handles the swim. Either staying afloat, diving deep or going with the flow requires actions.
In his book “The Alchemist”, Paulo Coelho states that the only way to endure life is through the action. Although one may encounter hardships throughout the lifetime, trying to understand their genuine intention is the first step in following destiny.

As Melchizedek once told Santiago:“When you play cards the first time, you are almost sure to win.Beginner's luck.” He mentions luck due to its essential role at primary stages of a long journey, either of spiritual development or movement in geographical terms. The boy was eager to follow his dreams, and luck was a complement to all of his misfortunes, winnings and adventures in general. Owing to his action and decisions he was able to find real wisdom and many other things he was not aware of. Moreover, Coelho says such words:”If a person is living out his destiny, he knows everything he needs to know.” Living up to destiny presumes that knowledge of everything is initially within a person. Listening to the voice of the heart can turn life into a party, a grand festival, because life is the moment the person is living now. Clear advice from Coelho can be highlighted with the following quote:”Your heart is alive. Keep listening to what it has to say.” From this point of view heart is not considered to be separate from a person, but rather as as personal frequencies which are on air every moment. General personal choice is either to turn up the volume and listen to it as a current flow of news or mute it. Hence life is what happens now: one is neither living in past nor he is able to transport to the future. Nevertheless, today is the day when person makes decisions, and it is something that triggers the aftermath in the future.
“The Alchemist” can be considered as a hand book for life. Though it does not comprise a step by step plan, it provides vital pieces of wisdom which a scattered throughout the pages. The author gives authentic definition of love,language of the heart, destiny and courage to pursuit it. Coelho did great job in creating the atmosphere of relaxation, when one can read a book and reflect, take a look deeper inside oneself.
