Romeo found another to love, by choosing to go to the party. At this party Juliet meets Romeo, but does not know his name. Later that night they meet and agree to marry each other but first they will need the Friar’s approval. Romeo takes care of the approval. Romeo and Juliet marry in secret. As their marriage happens, Tybalt, Juliet’s cousin, sends a letter daring Romeo to fight. With no response Tybalt searches for Romeo. Tybalt and Mercutio fight all because Tybalt was disconcerted by what Mercutio called him: “Good King of cats, nothing but one of your/nine lives,” (Shakespeare 427). Romeo attempted to stop the fight, but ended up getting Mercutio killed. Mercutio on the other hand could easily not have tempted Tybalt, for he knew that Tybalt would be upset by those words.Romeo was banished after killing Tybalt out of anger, of Tybalt killing Mercutio.
Juliet went to the Friar who gave her a vial that would put her in a sleep-like death. Juliet became hesitant to take the vial. She believed that the Friar might have poisoned it in order to keep the marriage of Romeo and Juliet a secret, (Shakespeare 456). Juliet would however do anything to one day see Romeo again, this includes taking a vial she knows not of what it contains. Friar Lawerance gave Friar John a letter speaking of the plan; in trusting that he would deliver it. Friar John afraid to travel to Mantua never gave Romeo the letter, but instead a man told Romeo that he saw Juliet dead.
