This family consists of a father, mother, and two young biological children who live together under one roof. At this time, they have no other family members living with them in their house. CJC’s family does live close so they are able to see them often. BJC and CJC consider blood relatives their family mostly but with some of their friends being so close and knowing them for so long, they consider some of their friends their family too. Traditional gender roles played a big part in BJC and CJC’s lives growing up. Their mothers stayed at home and took care of things around the house and the children while their fathers worked and supported the family financially. BC and his two brothers were expected to follow in their father’s footsteps and take care of their families when it came time to. Their father had their futures all planned out for them, choosing jobs he considered masculine and would therefore support the needs of their families financially. In the end, none of the boys choose the career their father picked out for them. BJC did not agree with his father’s vision of them having the traditional gender role where he would be the main income in the family, he believed it was important to find his own way and own
