Fahrenheit 451 Week 1 Individual Reflection

Improved Essays
For Week 5, as the one who presented, I will reflect on the presentation from the preparation, presentation and Q&A part. But I will focus on the Q&A part and analyze this experience in detail.
I did not choose the topic of presentation until 4 days before it, which turned out that most interesting topics had already been chosen by my classmates. Though time was limited for me to prepare for the presentation, I felt calm and prepared my presentation in an organized way. To evaluate the preparation, the powerpoint could have been elaborated in a better way and more detailed information could have been included if I had started on the preparation early. Next time, I will start the project ahead of time and will not leave it to the last second.

And though Xirui’s question seemed tricky, it was not hard to find his logical mistake that he equaled democratic society to a perfect society without any problems and simply categorized high power distance as a stumbling stone. Moreover, because I studied the power distance distribution map before the presentation and kept some countries’ power distance index in mind, I was able to point out that, France, as a democratic country, has a high power distance which shows that democracy does not has a necessary connection with power distance. I felt a little bit uncomfortable when Xirui raised this question, because I had to explain in front of the audiences that his opinions were narrow and flawed, as the same time, in a polite and respectable way. Though I behaved in a relatively natural way to deal with these two questions, the following situation was totally beyond my expectation. Osborn mistook other’s illustration as mine and asked a question that actually did not concern with my presentation. Even though Xirui’s question seemed tricky and obstructive, as least it related to my presentation. But how should I handle with some speaker that did not pay

Since all events and actions are set in motion by past events, Montag is not responsible for his murderous and destructive actions; but being that Montag has a sense of freedom he is responsible for how he went about doing those actions. An event or action is caused by another event or action that comes before it. A prime example of this is shown is the quotation “A new Mechanical Hound has been brought from another district.”…

Henry Munoz IV 6/29/16 Per 2 Style Analysis Essay Ray Bradbury’s tone throughout the book was very subtle, plain, nothing too crazy. He doesn’t have an outrageous style when it comes to the tone part of his writing, it’s just very serious in terms of how the situation is. In some ways, you could say it’s very dark, because the main character, Montag, is very sad in some of the stories plot. I guess that’s why not too many teenagers enjoy the book because the tone isn’t very enjoyable. Bradbury’s diction in this book is very formal, which means the reader should have an expanded vocabulary while reading this.…

Ulises Gonzalez 2nd Self-Critique In general, I felt the presentation went well, but after reviewing the video, there are a number of areas I need to improve. First of all, I started well because I presented myself to the audience, I did not have my hands in my pockets, and I was not playing around with my hands, so the first part went really well in general. The presentation was well explained, but it could have been more developed and interesting. The organization was well structured since it addressed everything it was supposed to, but it could have been better because the presentation used the ideas of the paper, and I did not implement new ones.…

“It is important to foster individuality, for only the individual can produce the new ideas.” Like how Albert Einstein said here, individuality is important, and if you lose it, you lose the ability to create new ideas along with it. If everyone lost individuality, society would become uninteresting. We would not be able to create anything new, ask questions about what we hear, or understand ourselves. This is because the culture would tell you what you hear is what you’re supposed to think, and who you are supposed to be.…

People have experienced this in life and these ideas are shown in many stories too. The theme and idea that change is hard to accept is shown throughout the book. In Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, the theme of change is hard to accept shows the struggles that the main characters are going through, and the futuristic society that is struggling with the idea of not being with a tv or entertainment. Near the end of the book Montag is struggling with the idea of finally escaping the punishment of having books and where everybody is anti social, by getting scared of a deer, and still thinking that the mechanical hound is after him even though he just escaped to the river. In Fahrenheit 451, the theme that change is hard to accept is shown.…

Reflection About Classroom Teaching Experience Being an educator is a challenge and a new learning experience each time. As an educator, I am entrusted with the responsibility of shaping the way students think and feel in the classroom. I have always wanted to be an educator and share my experiences with the new generation of nurses. When I was assigned to work with professor Lynette Rayman to do my classroom teaching experience, I was thrilled because the topic I chose was chronic kidney disease which also happens to be my area of expertise. I had to incorporate my previous learning experiences to make my presentation lively.…
