Fahrenheit 451 Fahrenheit 451 is written by Ray Bradbury, a book about firemen that are paid to burn books. This book takes place in a suburban city in the twenty first century. Society has abandoned all sources of knowledge and turned towards fast entertainment. War is about to begin but people are deficit of concern and are indifferent towards it. Guy Montag is a fireman that takes pleasure in the burning of books and the buildings containing them. He thinks not of the reason behind the burning, but instead only obeys and does his job. In this society everyone is too caught up in life and exiting amusement that family time is spent inside an empty, dark house with four walls as TV. Montag’s life takes a short break from the fast life when he meets a young girl named Clarisse who seems wise and is deemed by society as antisocial. She shows him how to enjoy the little things and for the first time Montag feels happy, that is until Clarisse is abruptly murdered in a car accident. This leaves Montag feeling empty and he seeks to fill that void with books. …show more content…
He meets up with the professor, Faber and together they pursue to help society come back to knowledge. Their plans are suddenly interrupted one day when Montag is at the fire station and they receive a call, his wife has turned him in for hiding books and reading them. Montag is abandoned by his wife and forced to burn his house, there seems to be no hope, he is to be arrested. But as he is about to be arrested, things escalate rather quickly, fights break out and Montag ends up burning his co-workers and The Hound, a machine used to exterminate criminals. With nowhere to go and being chased by the police and another Hound, Montag reaches out to Faber. Faber tells him to run away towards the country and to follow the railroad
