Facial Expression: A Day In The Parking Building

Decent Essays
From the observation, I spent ten minutes every day in the parking building. I found no matter how hard to find the parking spot, people are not trying to be there early. They will leave sufficient time “they think that is” for themselves to find parking spot. But, usually this time is not enough.
When people are driving into the parking building, their facial expression is peace, but after they drive through fifth and sixth floor, their facial expression has changed. They become little nervous; after the second and third time, they still can’t find the parking spot, they will be extremely nervous. After they find the parking spot, their facial expression will be happy.
Also, I find the hardest time to find parking spot is between 10:30am

Free parking? It sounds like an idea too good to be true, and that’s because quite possibly, it is. At least that’s what Donald Shoup argues in “Yes, Parking Reform is Possible”. A public policy which allows an extensive amount of parking in a crowded city at little to no cost, regardless of budgets or consequences, will have serious negative effects to a community. Shoup predicts that we can achieve major social, economic, and environmental advantages at virtually no expense merely by subsidizing people and places, rather than parking.…

If you would have asked a resident in Grant’s Valley three years ago about 33rd street, they would have said that it’s a calm trail with a wonderful view of the river, old houses, and trees, where locals do their shopping, hiking, or get their morning coffee. One of the most adventurous pianists and inescapable presence in the scene is Matt Mitchell, who, besides his own work, is a fundamental piece in Tim Berne’s Snakeoil, Dave Douglas Quintet, Darius Jones Quartet, and Rudresh Mahanthappa’s Bird Calls. The cover of A Pouting Grimace, his latest work, exhibits an intriguing collage of figures that assume different forms, textures, and colors. This illustrates Mitchell’s compositional style and music. These forms sometimes live by themselves; other times they collide with other forms, metamorphosing into a new creature with a totally different texture, consistency, and visual appearance.…

Why not build more parking spaces closer to campus, instead of forcing them to make the long journey to and from their cars. Second the values, KU asks students and staff to use the unused parking sports not only cause they are more available, also it costs more money to create new parking sports across campus. Third are the principles, if we use the philosophy of Mills and his idea of utility, it makes more sense for the students and staff to use the parking spots farther away and then simply walk to campus. Lastly where do the loyalties of the KU lie, their loyalties lie with the students, staff and university itself. Because of their loyalties, KU would have to take money out of its own pockets to pay for more parking spots.…

The parking industry brings in a significant amount of revenues, profits, and investments to both the public and private sectors. The industry is segmented into on-street parking and off-street parking. On-street parking, typically free or 10-15 times cheaper than off-street parking, is mostly controlled by local governments and represents approximately one-third of all parking-related revenues in the US (Dalal, 2014). According to a National Parking Association’s Parking Demand Report (2016), New York State has the highest parking revenues ($1.2 billion) on the East Coast due to its population growth and density. To break it down to the city’s level, New York City’s financial report for FY2016 shows that the city generated about $215 million…

As many college students like you, I often get terrible headaches because of many routine situations such as: late-night studies, early morning classes, puzzling situations, or just simple tiredness. Pain is one of the most common and essential parts of our life. Since our births, we adapt and learn to express our pain. First, as kids, we don’t do much effort to express our discomfort, and we start crying and annoying our parents for half an hour. Then we learn to not be as naïve and at least show the location of pain following by the same process of crying.…
