If Dinwiddie Middle School would let me change one thing about the dress code i think i would have to chose to change the policy about wearing a hood in school. I would chose to change this because sometimes having a hood on can greatly help students concentrate, sometimes it helps with headaches, and sometime students just get cold in school. I think that DMS should change their policy on wearing a hood in school. I think this because sometimes students think it is just a form of style.…

At Needham High School, the debate on open campus has been going on forever. Currently, the rule for open campus is that juniors and seniors are allowed to leave the school during lunch and study periods. Unfortunately, freshmen and sophomores have not been allowed to leave school property in between eight in the morning and two thirty-five in the afternoon. This rule must be changed instantly because it is an unfair rule that allows the older students access to different lunch options besides the not so great cafeteria. The cafeteria tries to offer different options, but it always seems to end up as similar things.…

Students should be required to wear uniforms so that they can focus more on learning than on fashion, or on the hard decision of what to wear in the morning. Students wearing uniform cuts down bullying and improves discipline, helps promote focus, and save parents money throughout the school year. The main reason for uniforms is that they promote discipline, which in turn helps improve academic performance (Bennett). People who oppose school uniform have stated uniform requirement violates, or disregards, the right to freedom of expression, ("Fashion do or don 't?"). Some schools don’t allow collarbone to show or shoulder and in all schools we all have consequences. This is unacceptable to punish kids for wearing the clothes they want to wear to express themselves. Our education is more important than what boys think about the clothing we wear because dressing ourselves is an important part for some people’s days and when we get dress coding this is taking away the right. They take these rules to the next level and if schools want our dress code to be so strict then schools should just have a uniform if girls can barely express what they want to. I think all as long as girls don’t show any inappropriate parts of their body it's ok to show a little bit of…

School Uniforms School uniforms have been a controversial subject on whether students should wear them or not. There are many ways students can be conservative for school other than wearing a uniform. Therefore, I don’t think uniforms are necessary.
