Explain Two Reasons Why Britain Joined The War

Britain joined the war because of two main factors, a treaty with Belgium that stated that they would support the other if attacked, In 1914 Germany attacked France by moving through Belgium which initiated the treaty and therefore Britain declared war on Germany. The other reason was because Britain was threatened by Germany's power. Had Germany won the war against France, it would have become infinitely more powerful and would have surpassed Britain in colonies and industrial production, this paired with the pro-war sentiment of the time, sufficiently convinced the Britons to Join the war.

The British effect on the war includes the Royal Navy blockading the German ports so no ship could get in or out, leading to famine in the cities and
