The Colonial Period in American history consisted of many different key events and ideas, along with many different cultures. The Colonial Period covers the phase of when the European settlers came to America, the colonization of America, and the incorporation of the Europeans in the United States. Certain things like American Indians and European settlement, Puritans and rationalists, important political documents and speeches, were all a part of the Colonial Period in America. Many people are led to believe that the European explorers were the first to set foot on American soil. American Indians were inhabiting American soil for thousands of years prior to the European explorers setting foot on American soil. The American Indians were drastically different from the European explorers. The American Indians operated in a different manner than the European settlers did. By the European settlers coming to America, it opened a window for the two cultures to see a new way of doing things.
