How public policy is formed in the American system of government. A government goal oriented response or course of action to address problems or issues in the country. In the American system of government, a response made to issue(s) or problem(s) real or perceived, then brought to the attention of government leaders, who address and act upon with laws and regulations, eventually accepted and adopted by government is called public policy Although many ideas for public policy comes from outside government or through interaction of government and the private sector such as, social, economic, or political associations or organizations, ultimately public policy is determined by government. What the particular policy will be depends on what the government chooses to do or what the government chooses not to do. Forming public policy is not a clear beginning or end. Who will benefit or bear the burden is part of a continuous process that involves reassessments, revisiting and revising proposals. This will eventually provide the public with a policy, legislation, guidance or relief for a particular issue or problem.
